The Marin Nicasio RC is a steel 650b gravel bike with swept back handle bars for a more comfortable, upright-seated position so it's also a great commuter; there are bolt mounts for everything you can think of so it's great for bikepacking/touring (I've included a couple photos of my setup for your ref.)

It has an 8 speed Shimano Nexus internal gear hub, so it looks clean like a fixie and the gears are protected from the elements (I've changed the stock 19t cog to a 23t so that it can spin up the steepest of hills with ease). This is the bike I would have if I can only have 1 bike. But between my partner and I, we've got both a racing road bike and a MTB each so need to free up some space in the garage.

It's a great bike for Wellington, and if it's good for Welly it'll be good for anywhere else. It eats up the hills and the potholes, stable on the descents, I've even took it on some singletracks & a few of the Great Rides incl. the Timber Trail, but on the gravel trails it's where it really shines; the steel frame and the wide tires just absorbs the bumps and it's super responsive.

It's well maintained and in great condition. Some scratches and cable housing rub, but that's the beauty of a burly steel frame, it adds to the character and looks the part.
