My knowledge of doll dating is limited to the occasional china heads, arms and legs that we occasionally dig out of old Victorian / Edwardian household rubbish holes and the like.

The smaller of the two, with china body and arms I think is fairly old, but possibly more on the vintage side of age rather than antique - I think! She's in good order with some age appropriate wear to her short hair, a small chip on the tip of one shoe, but no other faults. Not sure if her petticoat is original or not? The head/body/legs are all one piece, just the arms that are separate. She stands 155mm in height, excluding the stand (which is included with the auction).

The larger girl has a china head, but the body, arms and legs (all separately articulated) look to be something like laquered wood, or some other hard moulded paste material. She's also likewise in good order, just some minor age appropriate wear. I believe the word on the back of her head/neck reads "Germany" in cursive writing. She has glass eyes, unlike the painted eyes on the smaller lady. She stands 210mm in height.
