Description
This listing is for a delightful METICULOUSLY hand-made "Scratch-Built" miniature model SHIPS CANNON of the type used by the British Royal Navy at the time of the epic Battle of Trafalgar Circa 1805
This one is "modern" built sometime during the middle 20th Century by (obviously) a KEEN student of British Royal Navy history
The attachment to detail is ADMIRABLE
Probably done by another great fan of The ADMIRAL Horatio Nelson who commanded the famed Battle of Trafalgar like a naval genius, alas sadly not to survive the epic sea battle that won him IMMORTALITY in the following centuries as the Admiral SAINT of the British Royal Navy
ONE of two miniature cannons that I am listing tonight
This is the SMALLER of the two it DOES have a fuse hole and the barrel IS bored all the way down to where it connects to the fuse hole
This cannon was MADE TO BE FIREABLE
It does NOT come with any Black Powder ("Gunpowder" or any fuse or any ammunition Cannon Balls)
BOTH cannons are shown in my final image
NO FIREARMS LICENCE is required to bid, buy or own this miniature cannon
But you WOULD REQUIRE a current New Zealand FIREARMS LICENCE if you wanted to FIRE IT
You would also require a Firearms Licence to purchase the Gunpowder and fuse
Sold as an "ORNAMENT ONLY"

If it's capable of firing then I'm pretty sure you would need a firearms licence. It's no different than me saying I've got a shotgun... It fires but I'm selling it as ORNAMENT ONLY. To sell any firearm to someone in nz without a licence said firearm needs to be made inoperable. You might want to check this with the police as the liablity lies with you the seller. I may be wrong mate but if still check if you haven't already. Good luck with the sale r*************k (29 β’ 07:01 pm, Wed, 17 Apr )Sorry πI COULD agree with you, but then we would both be wrong. π. Were you to sell a SHOTGUN (or ANY FIREARM) as an "ornament only" you would be committing a serious criminal offence, if you sold it to a person that did not have the requisite class of Firearms Licence . Your concept of "inoperable" is NOT RECOGNISED under NZ Firearms law. IE you MUST possess the correct class of Firearms Licence to own an inoperable firearm, as would be required to own an operable firearm of same type phillipjames (8980 β’ Wednesday, 17 April 2024 )Hi,I'm loving these, how awesome, but I'm having trouble between the photo of ruler and photos of surrounding to get a true idea of size.can you please give me a approx overall length of both canons.Thanx. c*******p (56 β’ 08:43 pm, Wed, 17 Apr )The SMALLER cannon measures 8.5" from fuse hole to the barrel mouth, & overall length is 11" (That's quasi "large" among model cannon). The BIGGER gun (without fuse hole) is 16" overall, that just LARGE and IMPRESSIVE in my view. Thanks for your interest π phillipjames (8980 β’ Wednesday, 17 April 2024 )NO FIREARMS LICENCE is required to bid, purchase, or own this miniature cannon which is exempted under Section 22 of the Arms Act NO LICENCE required, but possession must be with a lawful reason Seller comment Thursday, 18 April 2024 I canβt imagine anybody will care β¦ but the English cannons in use at Trafalgar were flintlock activated. As it happens, the first shot fired at that battle was when a young midshipman (not on the Victory) tripped over a lanyard attached to a flintlock. b******i (261 β’ 07:41 pm, Sun, 21 Apr )Thanks for that anecdote and informational input phillipjames (8980 β’ Sunday, 21 April 2024 )Does it have a "DENIX" brand on it? See the "DENIX" model also listed - same?? they are mass produced not a "scratch built" model at all. These are models only and it would be dangerous to suggest it might be fired. I have 4 model (signal) cannon - two Brass barreled and two bronze. Best check that yours is not just a cast alloy or someone may get injured. The barrel will need to be "Proofed" - pressure tested to a certain propellant loading. e*****9 (79 β’ 06:54 pm, Fri, 26 Apr )Hi. What caliber of minature cannon ball would it fire. p******m (49 β’ 10:24 am, Sat, 27 Apr )
