Diving headfirst into the diverse melting pot of post-911 Los Angeles, this compelling urban drama tracks the volatile intersections of a multi-ethnic cast, examining fear and bigotry from multiple perspectives as characters career in and out of each others lives. No one is safe in the battle zones of racial strife and no one is immune to the simmering rage that sparks violence and changes lives. Several stories interweave during two days in Los Angeles involving a collection of interrelated characters: a black police detective with a drugged-out mother and a thieving younger brother; two car thieves who are constantly theoris ing on society and race; a distracted District Attorney and his irritated and pampered wife; a racist veteran cop (caring for a sick father at home) who disgusts his more idealistic younger partner; a successful black Hollywood director and his wife who must deal with racist cops; a Iranian- immigrant father who buys a gun to protect his shop; a Hispanic locksmith and his young daughter who is afraid of bullets, and more. |
