Many of our products, although imported from Europe, have been tested by ourselves; this allows us to be very hands on with the design and development processes.
When we try out a new range, it all gets tested by not only ourselves here in Christchurch, but our customers too from all over NZ. Often, we will go back and forth with changes and improvements, finally ending up with something we know our customers will be happy with. Only then are we confident enough to put our sticker on the side and call it our own...

Chook Manor has grown to be New Zealand’s top, poultry supplies business. 100% locally owned and operated, we’re a combination of new ideas and good old fashioned Kiwi customer service. As we don’t have a large chain of shops, or dozens of staff, our overheads are kept low, so our prices are as good, if not better than some of the inferior quality brands our market is commonly flooded with, and we will never compromise on quality hence our partnerships with many top European specialised manufacturers.
About us
It all began in 2008 when we started manufacturing a couple of simple chicken coops from our little garage at home in Little River, Canterbury. Selling our coops and a few chooks and accessories, on what was then a small shopping network called Trade Me. As Kiwis got more used to buying things online, we got more used to selling them. After a couple of years with a small part time hobby, demand was getting the best of us. A loss of employment in the construction industry meant some time left to re-think our families future.
Being one of the only Poultry specialist sellers on Trade Me, we decided to also start our own website – at this time, Chook Manor Limited – Your one stop chook shop was launched, it was the 1st of September, 2010. Our old trade me account was retired and chookmanor was created... Our goal was simple – To provide you the best deals on everything for your chooks and backyards, delivered straight to your door at the best possible price. And since then we have been able to do just that. Several years on, a few earthquakes in between - here we are, still growing in an ever expanding-market. Friends laughed at us, told us Chooks in the back yard is so 1960’s – well its back and more popular than ever!
From the humble chicken coop in Little River to the largest range of poultry supplies specialists in NZ and our first store opening in Christchurch City, no matter how big or small your budget is we’ve got you covered. With a fantastic Feeders, Drinkers, Accessories, Health care products and Incubators to meet everyone’s needs. We even have a range of health care products we supply to some of NZ’s most well-established Farm and Rural trade stores.
