Purchased from a dealer in the city 25+ years ago this mirror had been rescued from a demolition site from downtown Auckland. Not sure of the exact provenance, but I had been told it had been a formal framed mirror from commercial premises. Minor borer holes in the headboard only and treated when purchased and refurbished. All in solid Rimu and originally clear-finished, but very worn, now painted to protect the timber in our old bathroom. Note read lead paint on rear of mirror suggests that it is at least 50 years old. This method of protection (very good BTW) was discontinued when lead-based paints were outlawed. The bathroom has recently been renovated and the mirror is now surplus to requirements. Other items in pictures not included.
