The mechanism "cocks & fires", the magazine removes just like the Real McCoy

Because this is ABSOLUTELY LIFE-LIKE you should be very responsible when & how you behave with this LOOK ALIKE "Firearm" BRANDISHING This in public would be a serious offence A truly SUPERB GIFT for any owner of a 1934 Ford Deluxe V-8 (The model of car that Bonnie & Clyde died in a hail of FBI Tommy Gun bullets after a crimewave across the USA where they killed 9 police officers and 4 civilians

Great item for the Military Reenactor who needs to carry a realistic looking weapon

The Thompson submachine gun (also known as the "Tommy gun", "Chicago typewriter", "Chicago piano", "trench sweeper", or "trench broom")

Is a blowback-operated, selective-fire submachine gun, invented & developed by US Army Brigadier General John T. Thompson in 1918

It was designed to break the stalemate of trench warfare of WWI, although early models did not arrive in time for actual combat

The Thompson saw early use by the US Marine Corps during the Banana Wars, the United States Postal Inspection Service, the Irish Republican Army, the Republic of China, & the FBI following the Kansas City Massacre

The weapon was also sold to the general public

Because it was so widely used by criminals, the Thompson became notorious during the Prohibition era as the signature weapon of various organized crime syndicates in the USA in the 1920s

It was a common sight in the media at the time, & was used by both law enforcement officers & criminals

The Thompson was widely adopted by the U.S. armed forces during WW2, & was also used extensively by other Allied troops during the war

Its main models were designated as the M1928A1, M1 & M1A1 during this time

More than 1.5 million Thompson submachine guns were produced during WW2

It is the first weapon to be labelled and marketed as a "submachine gun"

  • The Tommy Gun CARRY SLING is INCLUDED It is a GENUINE WW2 example, I never figured out how to attach it?🙁 But I found an image on the WWW that shows how it should be attached. Lucky new owner should not need to carry the full weight unassisted.....It weighs over 10 Lbs EMPTY just like the REAL McCoy did. Sold to me as a M.G. C. product & I believe it to be so. NOT obviously marked as such, but I have NEVER SEEN ANOTHER genuine MGC Tommy Gun to compare with it. WHO ELSE made them that GOOD? 🙂 Seller comment Wednesday, 17 April 2024
  • I have one of these the only other one I have seen I bought off trade me 12 years ago. They are pretty rare to see for sale . They fire a custom plug fire cartridge . Reusable brass cartridge you unscrew in the middle and insert the charge . a*********r (364)01:01 pm, Mon, 22 Apr MANY THANKS for kindly advising that these M.G.C. Replica Tommy Guns are NOT "A Dime a Dozen" OR "As common as mud". Like yourself? I have NEVER SEEN another for sale on TM. I was aware that they COULD fire SPECIAL M.G.C. BLANKS, but again as I have NEEVER SEEN any for sale?, It seemed like a BIG "TEASE" to even mention this fact. A quick "Google" did show that there WERE some "After Market" blanks being sold by ANOTHER maker to FIT the MGC Replicas, but don't know how EASY these are to import? phillipjames (8982) • Monday, 22 April 2024
  • I bought a few cartridges off gun city so that would be a good place to enquire . There is also a model gun forum the buyer can check out lots of useful information . a*********r (364)08:52 pm, Mon, 22 Apr Many THANKS AGAIN for two most useful & informative tips. Most encouraging to hear that Gun City had some type that would work? I guess some "After Market" brand? As Gun City well post-dates the demise of the original M.G.C. phillipjames (8982) • Monday, 22 April 2024
  • Is there a box to put this in after use? t*********t (1)03:17 am, Thu, 25 Apr There is NOTHING else included. no box, no bullets, no manual. What you SEE is what you get....a now VERY RARE vintage 1970's-1980's non-firing replica Model Gun Corporation "M.G.C." (Not so-marked, but clearly one of theirs as they were the ONLY maker to go to these lengths, striving for absolute realistic model. Made for the DISCERING Japanese market where Firearms for citizens have BEEN BANNED since 1603!. If there WAS a BOX? Then the likely eventual auction sale price would be DOUBLED phillipjames (8982) • Thursday, 25 April 2024
