  Got To Get Out is a social enterprise outdoors group that has a mission to get the community outdoors and active.   One of our many socially-good projects is to save and restore unwanted bikes and other outdoor equipment, to sell these cheaply and get people outdoors on bikes.   Got To Get Out believes it's important for the environment to try and recycle bikes and outdoor equipment instead of always buying new. Each day, we work to divert bikes out of landfill or a fate of becoming scrap metal.   GTGO staff and volunteers fix unwanted bikes in a purpose-built workshop inside a large recycling center in Glenfield Auckland.   At the 'Got To Get Out Workshop' the bikes are carefully cleaned, lubed, adjusted, serviced, and test ridden ready for sale to the community cheaply.   Dick Smith - early days In 1968, as a young electronics technician with a love for anything with wires, Dick Smith took a leap of faith with a $610 investment to found the Dick Smith brand we know and love today.   In the beginning, Dick focused his energy towards installing and servicing car radios. The following year, his business’ success meant he not only needed a bigger shop, but more shops!   He moved the business to bigger premises.
