Only selling as my first child is due mid June so wanting to focus on my family.
Sale price includes the client base and all of the tech included to run the business including the state of the art, one of a kind pasture sledge and a 2012 Holden Colorado ute (not pictured) with only 100,000km on the clock, so still plenty of km's left in her. Only further things you will need to purchase is a laptop and cell phone.
This business is a good little cash cow which I currently operate part time around my step children and other commitments therefore there is still room for value to be added and room for the business to grow. I have been running the business for 4 seasons and it has grown every year. EBPIDT for last season was $70k... not bad for a part time gig!
You will visit the clients properties either weekly or fortnightly and drive across their entire property, providing them with a series of data informing them where their grass is and how much is in each paddock. Data processing happens in the ute at the end of the drive. The software which we have developed allows you to process the farm once you are done and send it directly to the farmer at the end of the drive so you don't then have to go home and sit at the computer.
I have set my ute up with fence walkers so as long as the farm is set up for centre pivots or has bungy gates, you don't need to get out of the vehicle at all, you can just drive over the fences. This helps with efficiency and speed.
Full training will be provided and I'm happy to be used as a relief driver should the the new owner ever need.
GrassCo Canterbury is a licence of our parent company GrassCo in Southland. GrassCo owns all of the software therefore there is license fee paid to GrassCo monthly which is on a % basis.
The season runs from generally mid July until first week of June meaning you get 6 weeks off in the middle of the year.
