Sourbros is an artisan bakery and pizzeria operating in Whanganui since 2018. We have a loyal customer base who love our high-quality sourdough, pizza, sandwiches, treats, and coffee. We open 3 days/week as a bakery, 3 evenings/week as a pizzeria as well as selling bread at the local Saturday market.
We recently moved into a restored heritage building on Drews Ave. The space was redesigned with our residence in mind, with beautiful polished wooden floors and rustic exposed brick walls in the customer area, and non-slip vinyl and easy-to-clean walls in the kitchen. All benches and sinks are stainless steel except for our handbuilt macrocarpa shaping bench.
High-quality, ethical ingredients have defined us since we opened, prioritising organic and local ingredients sourced from other small producers when we can. Almost everything we bake is naturally fermented using sourdough, as we believe the health benefits and flavour enhancement to be worth the extra time. Our reputation for sourdough and pizza brings customers from all over the country, gaining a 4.7-star rating on Google.
We are a limited company with 2 owners. We're happy to negotiate one of the owners remaining as an employee if required, at least during the first few months to train up the new owners.
