$1 reserve promo finishes at the end of February

Written by The Trade Me team in General at 2:33pm, Fri 22 Feb 2013

There’s only a short time left on our $1 reserve promo. List a general item with a $1 reserve right through until 11.59pm on Thursday 28 February and you get free Gallery.

If you choose to relist your item after the promo has ended, you’ll be automatically charged for Gallery – so be sure to remove Gallery when you relist if you don’t want to be charged for it. Please note, this applies to any automated listing tools you might be using, like My Products and Tradevine.

On Gallery listings your main photo appears in search results, so it gets more clicks, more views and more prospective buyers.

We announced today that we’re intending to sell our group-buying website Treat Me to a consortium led by the current head of Treat Me, James MacAvoy.

We’re delighted to have reached agreement with James and his team, and expect they’ll be able to approach the business with lots of ideas and entrepreneurial zest. We wish them all the best.

It remains business as usual at Treat Me – it will continue to operate under the same brand and with the same large, engaged subscriber base. More...

Here are the answers to some of the most common questions we've received:

What is the reference number?

An apology from Trade Me

Written by The Trade Me team in General at 4:21pm, Wed 27 Feb 2013

Yesterday we made a change to Trade Me to allow multiple purchases from a single listing. What’s become clear now is that we didn’t do enough to ensure our members were aware of the changes in advance.

As a result we ended up causing some of you a lot of pain when it came to reconciling purchases with listings. We’ve let you down and we’re sorry.

Over the last day we’ve listened to what you’ve told us and made changes to reduce the pain. These include adding the listing number back into the Sold Items list within My Trade Me, and making it possible to search in Sold Items for both purchase reference numbers and listing numbers to help reconcile those transactions. Finally, we’ve brought on extra Trade Me crew to help. More...
