Description

This is a sad example of a “Hobby Killer” telescope. On the plus side I’ve cleaned the 4.5 inch primary mirror. Added a centre spot and collimated this sorry little beast. It comes with a variety of eye pieces. All of them may have fallen out of a Christmas Cracker. It has been the object of so much ridicule it needs to be put out of it’s misery. Buyer must pick up. I’m not wasting any more time or energy on this pathetic excuse for a con man’s side kick. If I allowed people to “make an offer” I’m worried someone would want payment for taking it away ??

  • hahahahaha, great auction description. throw it away bro, do the right thing, put the rubbish in the bin :D s*****2 (1091)11:32 am, Fri, 17 May Totally agree. It’s a free listing. So it’s up for entertainment value. 🤣 seaweaver (38) • Friday, 17 May 2024
  • Yes, these 'departmental' type telescopes are a serious hobby killer. The 'Yoke' type mount is basically useless and they have inferior spherical mirror. I had one years ago and and some decent eyepieces, the supplied ones are rubbish, you can make it work, just. Good that you are honest. c****n (942)1:45 pm, Fri, 17 May Fo’sho! seaweaver (38) • Friday, 17 May 2024
  • You sound like you do know your stuff. Trying to get into astronomy with my daughter. Can you suggest a good one to find? j*******3 (521)8:15 am, Sat, 18 May It’s a huge question. Best “bang for your buck” is an 8” reflector on a dobsonian mount. A dobsonian is like a lazy Susan. No doubt others will have different opinions…. Check out YouTube on the subject. Go for reputable brands like SkyWatcher and Celestron. Down load an Astro App like Stellarium. These apps point out where stuff is. Good Luck 🤞 seaweaver (38) • Saturday, 18 May 2024
  • Thank you for the answer, great direction. Hope you find a better option yourself. All the best. j*******3 (521)8:35 am, Sat, 18 May Happy Hunting seaweaver (38) • Saturday, 18 May 2024
