Description

Up for sale is my pride and joy for the past 4 years. It's been well taken care of and always kept up to date with maintenance. There is over $20k in receipts for work done.

Unfortunately as I've been out of the country, the car has sat for the past 2 years or so. Rego has lapsed and as I'm now leaving the country for good it's not worth my time to get back on the road.

This is an NZ new model and I was the 4th owner, KM's are high as the previous owner did a lot of highway commuting in it, but mechanically the car is solid and never missed a beat or had any issues at all. The engine and transmission in this generation of AMG's are known for being extremely reliable

I've decided that a $1 reserve auction is the fairest way for the market to determine its worth. These cars have been appreciating for a while now. And the engine is easily worth over $10k alone.

I will be uploading more interior photos + a video walkaround soon

Mods & other specs/work done:

  • Dyno tuned and made 469 WHP
  • Airmatic struts were all replaced with brand new units a few years ago, and easily air up/down with no issues
  • Brand new brake rotors and pads were also done a few years back
  • dark tints
  • lowering links (original supplied also)
  • modified exhaust (mufflers removed, secondary cat delete - it sounds like a V8 should)
  • new primary & aux battery
  • carbon front lip & rear diffuser

The only issue with it right now is:

  • SBC Unit is starting to act up after being parked up for a while, it never happened when I was last actively driving it. Occasionally while driving brake pressure decreases and the car goes into a limp mode. I haven't spent much time diagnosing but after I turn it off/on again it goes away temporarily. The part is around $500 on Ebay to replace.
  • Other than that, car runs very well and you can easily drive it around as is.

Other parts/spares included with sale of auction:

  • Roof Spoiler
  • Boot Lip
  • 15mm Spacers
  • 3x S65 AMG style 19" wheels (1 was destroyed in a pothole)
  • Spare headlights

Questions & Answers

  • I have limited space in the auction text but will add more details here. If you'd like to view invoices of work done please text/email and I can send you the google drive link. Seller comment Thursday, 28 March 2024
  • Dyno sheet (actually made 300 kw at rear wheels, isn't 469 WHP like it says in the description my bad): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZAzA30uFudbnAkPobovPPSDunplxqyIP/view?usp=sharing Seller comment Thursday, 28 March 2024
  • Also has Bridgestone Potenza RE003's with good tread all around on the OEM forged 18" wheels. Seller comment Thursday, 28 March 2024
  • Any interior photos k******1 (15)09:06 pm, Thu, 28 Mar Once I get to the car this weekend I'll take some photos the_leetard179 (320) • Thursday, 28 March 2024
  • Would the cats being removed complicate revinning? Or have they been gutted and left in place? Thanks a********o (506)03:23 pm, Sun, 31 Mar The car was previously registered so it won't be as strict as an import from overseas for example. I took another car through a few months ago and they didn't do any emissions checks. With that said it's way too loud atm so will definitely need some mufflers put in to pass inspection. They mostly care about noise from my experience the_leetard179 (320) • Sunday, 31 March 2024
  • Any update on interior pictures? j*******n (103)04:29 pm, Sun, 31 Mar Just uploaded now the_leetard179 (320) • Sunday, 31 March 2024
  • I've uploaded interior photos as well as some close ups of the imperfections on the paint/body work. Interior isn't perfect either, sunroof lining is sagging abit, steering wheel and some other components are worn too It's a 21 year old car so some wear and tear is to be expected, I'd suggest viewing in person prior to bidding if unsure. Thanks Seller comment Monday, 1 April 2024
  • So 3 good mags one stuffed on and gos I to limp mode wow sounds like a disastrous consequences for the buyer, yep 1 dollar reserved b********6 (1)02:45 pm, Thu, 4 Apr That's the spare set of wheels, not the current set on the car. Move along if you can't afford it the_leetard179 (320) • Thursday, 4 April 2024
  • wow 20 k work done does not sound great car. j******3 (585)03:21 pm, Fri, 12 Apr Replacing the air suspension and brakes alone is around $10k, they are not cheap cars to maintain. Luckily for the new owner these major maintenance costs are done and won't need to be replaced for a long time. the_leetard179 (320) • Friday, 12 April 2024
  • Is it possible to view the car before auction ends? c*****1 (33)06:48 am, Tue, 16 Apr 100% my contact details are in the auction. I encourage viewing first. Don't want to deal with any time wasters the_leetard179 (320) • Tuesday, 16 April 2024
  • I understand the SBC pump is playing up. By any chance do you have a quote for coding the SBC pump into the car? s*********a (13)08:48 pm, Thu, 18 Apr No I haven't got a quote, but from what I read online it would probably cost around 1.5-2k in parts and labour. I'd suggest calling around to a few workshops if needed. the_leetard179 (320) • Thursday, 18 April 2024
  • Perfect, I'll proceed with the bids s*********a (13)06:01 am, Fri, 19 Apr Awesome, good luck 👍 flick me a text or call if you had anything else the_leetard179 (320) • Friday, 19 April 2024
  • Sorry mate, can you pull my last bid? I’ve found something else. c****v (185)08:56 pm, Fri, 19 Apr Sure, no problem the_leetard179 (320) • Friday, 19 April 2024
  • Guess I owned 3 e55 amg 2005x2 and 2006. All fully modified. Beautiful m13k motors which is pretty much bullet proof. Best cars I have owned. Never had an issue with any of them and my biggest regret was letting them go due to moving overseas. Glws bud amazing machinese m*********5 (150)07:43 am, Sun, 21 Apr Thank you, yes these are amazing cars. I really wish I could keep it. Future classic for sure the_leetard179 (320) • Sunday, 21 April 2024
