Description
1994 Hilux Surf in reasonable condition for age. Still drives surprisingly well for a 30 year old vehicle. Working Air conditioning, Central locking,power steering, towbar, electric windows, turbo. 4wd system all works well. Has been recently serviced and has had a wheel alignment. Brand new set of Falken M/T tires on black steel rims. Comes with original Alloys with near new A/T tires and a set of snow chains. Bluetooth stereo, two new batteries, new radiator and the head has been done recently. Most of the clear coat has come off the bonnet and roof, bit it still looks ok after a cut and polish. No rust on the vehicle as it has spent most of it's life in Cetral Otago. We purchased it very recently as a runaround vehicle between our dairy farm and runoff, but have decided to sell it as we live on muddy gravel roads and the back door set up is not very suitable for this. The rear window needs to be lowered for the tail gate to be opened, and this doesn't work very well when the window is covered in mud. We have already purchased another runaround with more suitable rear door set up. Viewing and test drives welcome. I can't accept any offers sorry once the auction has started. Km will go up as the vehicle may be used occasionally until auction closes.

There's no handle on the outside to open the tail gate, you have to use the key to wind the window down then reach into the inside for the handle to open the tail gate. nath83 (273 • Tuesday, 14 May 2024Nah . The plastic thing above number plate with Hilux surf on it is also a lever. They do get stuck if rods misalign or seized mechanisms.....your warrant mechanic should not have let it pass. It's not an unusual problem and parts are hard to get.....I use a bicycle cable between glass and rubber attached to internals to open without need to wind down. If an accident or fire or similar emergency occurs winding down windows to open from interior levers isn't an option. Tell your mechanic he is risking his business as if they bar him from warrants many such businesses struggle to survive. I've had a better look at the back and it definitely doesn't open from the outside without lowering the window, the black handle thing above the number plate just has lights in it.
