Description
Fabulous Paperweight in the form of teardrop mushroom. Mid century modern glass sculpture or paperweight designed by Ann & Goran Warff for Kosta of Sweden. The paperweight is fully marked on the bottom, as shown, “Kosta 97324 Warff. It is one of a series of “Bubble Sculpture” paperweights, with a clear ‘mushroom’ cap over a bubble base. This model, #97324 is quite rare, having a pointed or teardrop shaped cap. The code dates this piece to the early / mid-1970s, after the 5-digit code was established but before the name was changed in 1976 to Kosta Boda. 114.3mm x 69.8mm Weight is 762grams I can see two tiny littl pinhead marks but feel these are part of manufacture. Also a funny almost what looks like an impact mark inside the glass at the base but also could have been at time of manufacture. Only stating these things for accuracy. CONTACT MUST BE MADE WITHIN 48HRS OF AUCTION CLOSING.

Will add postage once I get the right size box. frugals (1327 • Monday, 29 April 2024 )After cleaning the item I am no longer able to see the impact mark, my guess is that it was in fact only a play of light. The other pin marks do very much look like popped bubbles in the glass at time of making. Seller comment Tuesday, 30 April 2024
