Category changes

Written by Trade Me staff at 12:23pm, Fri 8 Oct 2004

Today "Bottles" have been moved out of Pottery & glass and in to Collectables. The "Top 40" category under Music & Instruments>CD has been removed. Some Car brand categories have been removed out of Trade Me Motors due to low volume of listings. We are constantly reviewing the category tree and if in future these need to be reinstated, we will do so.

If your item was listed in any of the categories that have been altered, you will be prompted to reselect a category when re-listing. All of the other auction details will be carried over as per normal, including your photo.

If you have any feedback, please use the "contact us" link.

“List a similar item” now available

You can now list a similar item by clicking on the “List a similar item” link available from the final page of the sell process. You can also choose to upgrade your listing at this point by accepting the Last Chance Upgrade offered.

The “List a similar item” link will pre-fill the auction details for a new auction from the auction just loaded.

New Gallery sort link

Written by Trade Me staff at 11:12am, Fri 1 Oct 2004

A new “Gallery” sort-link has been added to the category pages. This link is available in the “Sort by:” area just above the listings. You can sort by Gallery in any category, member listings, $1 Reserve and Hot auctions page.

This link allows members to see all gallery listings first, making browsing easier for those who prefer to browse by photos.

New bid limits to protect sellers

Written by Trade Me staff at 5:45pm, Mon 27 Sep 2004

Today we have introduced a limit on the number of auctions each member can bid on. Members will be limited to bidding on an absolute maximum of 100 auctions (or buy now purchases) in a given 24 hour period.

This has been introduced to stop scammers (or automated software) bidding on large numbers of auctions where there is no intent to purchase.
