Site paused for four minutes today

At 1:30pm today Trade Me will go silent for four minutes in memory of the Kiwis we lost last Friday.

Any auctions that were due to end during this time will be extended by an hour.

Changes we’re trialling on Trade Me Motors

We want to make it easier for you to sell with Trade Me by simplifying the way you list and promote cars, including the removal of auction success and withdrawal fees.

A few weeks ago we started A/B testing some changes with 10% of members and today we increased that to 50% of members. If you’re in this test group, you may notice:

• a new listing process
• different fees
• longer listing duration of 90 days (promotional features also last for 90 days)
• a new reduced listing fee if you need to continue your listing after 90 days. More...

We support amendments to the NZ firearms law

We are supportive of today’s announcement by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to reform New Zealand’s firearms laws.

We have pushed for stronger gun laws for a number of years and we’re pleased to see the changes signaled today. We think today’s announcement was a move in the right direction.

Clearly New Zealand has indicated, since the horrific attacks on Friday, that it wants change and we support that.  More...
