Trade Me financial results out today

Written by Paul in General, Motors, Property, Jobs and Top Seller at 4:49pm, Wed 22 Aug 2012

We delivered our first full year financial results as a publicly listed company today, for the 12 months to 30 June 2012. If you're interested in finding out more information about the results, or just general information about investing in Trade Me, head on over to the official Trade Me Group investor relations site.

As well as all the financial information, we also announced the acquisition of Tradevine. This is a cloud-based inventory management tool with cool integration into Trade Me. It provides sellers with a dashboard to manage sales, inventory and listings and we think it will be a valuable tool for retailers. You can read more about what they do over at tradevine.co.nz.

An upgrade to applying for jobs on Trade Me Jobs

Written by Pete in Jobs at 4:00pm, Thu 16 Aug 2012

We’ve made a cool change to the way you apply for jobs on Trade Me Jobs by adding the ability to upload and save documents like cover letters and CVs to your Trade Me account for future use. We think this makes the application process a lot easier, giving you quick access to your important documents.

You can upload up to 100 files by going to your My Trade Me page and clicking on CVs and documents. Alternatively, during the application process you can just upload them in the usual way and they will be magically added to the CVs and documents section. Note too that we've tweaked the Trade Me Jobs section of our privacy policy as part of this change.

A name change: Kiwis for kiwi

Written by Cat & Paul in General at 2:18pm, Wed 1 Aug 2012

Back in May we announced a new partnership with the Save the Kiwi Trust. After 21 years, the Save the Kiwi Trust is becoming an independent trust with a new name: Kiwis for kiwi. As part of this change, its flash new logo below will appear on listings where the seller has pledged to donate their “success fee top-up”.

The funds from Trade Me sellers will support national kiwi recovery goals, which include doubling the population of the critically endangered rowi kiwi population on the South Island’s West Coast by 2018.

If you’re selling an item on Trade Me and want to donate to Kiwis for kiwi, just tick the check-box during the sell process. Please check out our help section for more information.
