New broadband comparison tool on our Android app

Written by The Trade Me team in General at 9:30am, Fri 12 Aug 2016

Today we released a cool new tool to help you compare internet providers, based on the address of a property listing.

Under the description of every rental and for sale property listing on the Trade Me Android app, you’ll now see a button that says ‘Need broadband? Compare’. All you need to do is hit that button to be shown ADSL, VDSL, and fibre availability and speed at the property. You can then compare what’s available at that address.

We hope this helps you choose an internet provider who’s perfect for what you’re after in your new home. More...

We've switched messaging off

Written by The Trade Me team in General at 9:30am, Thu 11 Aug 2016

Over the past few months we've slowly been releasing a new messaging system. You might have used the new system yourself, or received emails from members who had access to it.

Since releasing the messaging system, we’ve received a heap of valuable feedback from members. As a result of some of this feedback, we’ve decided to switch it off and have another think about how messaging could work best on Trade Me. We've turned it off on the desktop site this morning, and will be doing the same on the Android app soon too.

If you've got any email conversations underway that started via the new messaging system, you can still reply to these as normal.

This change is to help eradicate and prevent the spread of the pea weevil in the controlled area MPI has set up in the Wairarapa region. It’s expected this ban will last for two years. More...
