Privacy: Put your oar in

Chances are if you’re interested in the internet, you’re also interested in privacy.

It’s a topic we take really seriously, and last week Jon, our CEO, spoke at a Privacy Commission forum – part of Privacy Awareness Week. We also recently sent through a submission to the Law Commission on the current review of the Privacy Act.

To ensure that all Kiwis get the chance to have a say and share their thoughts, the guys at the Law Commission are looking for more submissions, and have extended the deadline through to the end of May. If you have an interest in privacy you can still send in your thoughts, either as an individual or as the representative of a company.  More...

Hello from Trade Me headquarters, down on the Wellington waterfront.

As you’ll have seen earlier on, we made some tweaks to our Site Announcements page today. Along with this new look, we’re also kicking off a bunch of posts about different issues, initiatives and ideas that we think might be of interest to Trade Me’s members (and visitors swinging by our site) as up until now we’ve never really had a place to put this stuff.

The hardcore announcements will still be made in a straight up manner – this won’t change. But what this new Site Announcements page gives us is the chance to share a little bit more of what is going on at Trade Me. So, look out for posts on things like: More...

We’ve made some changes to our Announcements page (this page). You can now search for older announcements, narrow by category and view popular topics.

We’ve also added images so you can see what we’ve changed. For example, this is what the old page looked like:
