New Model Fields in Trade Me Motors
We’re currently working on ways to make it easier for members selling vehicles on Trade Me, and for buyers to find the vehicle they are looking for.
To achieve this, we’re making some changes to the sell process to improve the data we have available. As part of this work we’ve deployed a change today that alters the way we handle the ‘model’ attribute for used cars in Trade Me Motors.
Previously when you listed or relisted a vehicle, a free text field for the model attribute would need to be filled out. We’ve changed this to a drop-down list with a pre-determined set of models based on the chosen vehicle make. We’re also adding a ‘model detail’ field, which allows more specific detail on the sub-model or vehicle badge.
We’re also working to have vehicles searchable by model, and we'll keep you up to date when this feature is out in the wild.
