New photos need to be a minimum of 500 pixels
From today, any new photos (doesn’t apply to relists) uploaded to listings within our General Items categories will need to be a minimum of 500 pixels on the longest side. Photos need to meet the required dimensions in order to be uploaded.
These changes only apply to our General Items categories, with a couple of exceptions. They don’t apply to listings in the Movies & TV categories, or Trade Me Property, Trade Me Motors or Trade Me Jobs listings.
Why are you making these changes?
The larger the photo, the better experience it is for buyers. The idea of course is that this will result in more sales for all of our sellers.
We’ll also be introducing a photo zoom function on the listing page soon. The zoom function needs larger images to work well for browsers and buyers.
