New medicine category

We’ve recently added a new category for the sale of medicines.

Historically we haven’t allowed the sale of medicines on Trade Me as under the Medicines Act they’re not able to be sold by auction.

Who can sell medicines?

Pharmacists that are registered by the Pharmacy Council under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 may now list general sale medicines on Trade Me. They need to contact Trade Me to make arrangements to do so. No other members are able to list medicines on Trade Me.

What kind of medicines can be sold?

The kinds of medicines that can be listed are those typically sold in a local supermarket (known as general sales medicine) as well as contact lens solution.

Pharmacy-only or prescription medicines are not able to be sold.
