Four years, two months and 24 days after it launched, Trade Me Jobs finished October as New Zealand’s #1 employment site, claiming the top spot after attracting 860,922 domestic unique browsers.

Our recently appointed Head of Trade Me Jobs, Pete Ashby, was chuffed to have hit number one as his team has been on a mission to attract more Kiwis than any other job site since Trade Me Jobs officially passed Seek on domestic page impressions back in July 2009.

Here are four quick things that the Trade Me Jobs team have identified as being crucial to the site's success since launching in August 2006:
- fantastic support from the industry as we built the site from scratch;
- a simple, easy-to-use site that reflects the way Kiwis look for jobs;
- a commitment to non-metropolitan areas that had not been served well by others in the market; and
- making job advertising more affordable.

Trade Me Jobs has had a pretty awesome year after picking up its first-ever win as the country’s favourite job site at the 2010 NetGuide Awards in August.
