Trade Me Motors pricing has changed

Written by The Trade Me team in General and Motors at 8:00am, Wed 8 Apr 2015

As we announced two weeks ago, we’ve made some changes to listing fees for selling vehicles on Trade Me. This includes cars, motorbikes, boats and other vehicles such as aircraft, buses, caravans & motorhomes, earthmoving machinery, horse floats, specialist cars, tractors, trailers, trucks and wrecked cars.

If you are selling a vehicle via a classified, the listing fee for vehicles with an asking price of over $30,000 has increased from $79 to $99. Auction fees and all other classified listings under $30,000 remain unchanged.

It’s important to note that if the asking price of a live listing is increased, this may increase your listing fee. There is no success fee or withdrawal fee for a classified listing. More...

New feature: Motorweb Basic Report

Written by The Trade Me Motors team in General and Motors at 2:30pm, Thu 19 Feb 2015

We’re excited today to share a brand new feature for car sellers called a MotorWeb Basic Report.

A MotorWeb Basic Report displays key information about the vehicle you’re selling, including showing that the vehicle isn't stolen, doesn't have money owing, and isn't a damaged import.

Having a safe and trusted marketplace for buying and selling vehicles is hugely important to us, and we reckon this report will help to increase trust between buyers and sellers. Sellers can add a MotorWeb Basic Report for $9 and it will display at the top of their car listing until the vehicle is sold. It can also be added to an existing listing for $9 at any time. More...

A MotorWeb Report Pack gives you the flexibility to investigate more than one vehicle. This is useful if you’re unsure which vehicle you prefer, you miss out on purchasing a vehicle you were interested in, or you find a vehicle has issues and no longer wish to buy.

And here’s some more good news: for a limited time, our friends at MotorWeb are offering a Vehicle Information Report Pack, giving you three Vehicle Information Reports (VIR®) at a discounted price of $39. That saves you $20.85! More...

New site for MotorWeb

Written by The Trade Me team in General and Motors at 9:30am, Tue 16 Sep 2014

Last Friday, we released into the wild a shiny new public site for MotorWeb.

Buying a vehicle can sometimes be scary, but MotorWeb provides protection for vehicle buyers with The Vehicle Information Report™ (VIR).

The VIR is a full history check for a vehicle, and includes information like if a vehicle has money owing, an inconsistent odometer or is reported stolen. It’s important that you know the history of the vehicle you’re about to buy; if you buy a car without getting a VIR you run the risk of it being repossessed or being worth far less than you paid for it. More...
